Accidently run chmod -R 777 over gitlab

Hi, since I accidentally run “chmod -R 777” over Gitlab directory my ssh keys stopped working.
The Gitlab is fine, the web interface is working well, and it is show the existing ssh keys.
But as I try to push anything, I get “access denied” because it is not recognizing my ssh keys.

Could anyone help me please?

By default, the OpenSSH server does not read authorized_keys files that are readable by anyone other than the user they belong to. If you find the authorized_keys file and run chmod 600 on it, SSH should work again.

Thanks @kohenkatz, I did it and restarted gitlab service, but I still have the access denied. The message is this:

Permission denied (publickey,password).

fatal: Could not read from remote repository.

Please make sure you have the correct access rights
and the repository exists.

Can you check the SSH error log?

Also, can you try connecting with ssh -vv git@your.gitlab.server to see what private keys are being offered during the login process?

The “authorized_keys” is not a directory, is it correct?

Correct. authorized_keys is a single file.

If you have installed GitLab using the Omnibus package, look at /var/opt/gitlab/.ssh/authorized_keys

If you have installed by hand, look at /home/git/.ssh/authorized_keys (or wherever you chose to put it.)

It should print substantially more output than that.

You are right, the domain was wrong, is it ok?
