We use GitLab Ultimate in our company and would like to use the License Approval Policy feature. However, we regularly encounter “unknown” licenses for packages that run under the MIT license, for example. Even after updating the SPDX license list, these are still listed as “unknown”.
Temporarily disabling the policy to approve the MRs is not an option, as many MRs are created every day.
Here is my question:
Is there or will there be a feature to create custom licenses (e.g. to assign licenses to packages that are developed and used within the company) or to manually assign a license to certain packages that we know are running under a specific license?
Docs tier badges link to the history, with issues and parent epics in the tree. This has been my strategy to learn about new features, and see under which product planning epic they are tracked. Often, this leads to remaining feature proposals.
The last epic seems to hold customizations for licenses etc.
I’d suggest commenting there, documenting your needs and share use cases. If your request is not tracked yet, suggest creating a new issue and mention it in the epic. You can also share it with your account manager, or in a support ticket.
