Authentication failed: Extern uid has already been taken

Hey Everybody!

I had accidentally clicked to signin using Google once, which seemed to create a new account. I realized my mistake and I already had a regular account. So I deleted that one. Now, I wanted to associate that login with my existing account, however it’s giving me this message

Authentication failed: Extern uid has already been taken

I assume it’s because my prior account already existed. But I went through the motions to delete it already, so what do I need to do to actually get that account fully deleted? I went through the support options on the website and it sent me here.

I have exactly same problem. I can’t connect Google account to my GitLab account with error “Authentication failed: Extern uid has already been taken”.

And when I try to log in using Google account, it tries to create new GitLab account, so there is not another GitLab account connected to my Google account…

Trying to solve for weeks but without success.

:+1: i have the same issue.

Same issue here too!

I’m also hitting this issue – any ideas out there for resolving this?

Same issue here but also extends to my github account.
