Can't change my username to a group name I deleted

I got an error when trying to change my username to a group name that is deleted. I accidentally created a group for the name I want for my username (using the same everywhere else online). I first changed the group name to a different one and got the following error:

Username change failed - A user, alias, or group already exists with that username.

I deleted the group but still getting the same error.

Groups are not immediately deleted, but scheduled for delete with a delay. This may cause a delay with recreation then. On self-managed instances, admins can change the default setting.
