Can't find what account a gitlab URL is mapped to

I am trying to setup a company Gitlab and I want to the slug to be http://gitlab.com/worshiptalent. I have deleted all known gitlab accounts today except the one I know I want to have associated with this URL. I previously setup worshiptalent to map to one of my other accounts. However, when I navigate to the URL it still exist even though I believe it should not.

How can I tell which user/email is associated with this URL? Is there a delay?

Hey @john.carver, welcome to the forum!

I think there may be some sort of a misunderstanding with how accounts on GitLab.com work here. Overall, each account on GitLab.com is totally separate from every other account on the platform and there isn’t a way to “map” one account to another. Each account is also required to have a unique email address on file.

There overall isn’t a delay when an account is completely deleted from GitLab.com, so the fact that the worshiptalent account still exists means you didn’t delete it. I’ve sent a password reset email to the primary email address on file for that account, so if you still control it you should be able to use that to log in to it.

There is not a way to inherently know this information without logging into the account in question, for reasons of security and privacy.

I hope that helps.
