Could I got the source code of Enterprise Edition, if I buy licenses?
The Enterprise code is not open source since it has Gitlab’s features that are paid options. Just because you buy a license, doesn’t mean you are able to see or obtain the proprietary code. Buying a license doesn’t give you the right to this. If that was the case, people would be asking Microsoft to give them the code to Windows because they bought Windows.
GitLab.org / GitLab · GitLab provides the source code for both, community and enterprise edition. An overview of all licenses and conditions can be found in LICENSE · master · GitLab.org / GitLab · GitLab
Customers can look into adding features themselves, having access to the enterprise source code. Wider community members can do so too. Everyone can contribute
