Enabling Mermaid.js elk rendered

Is there a way to enable Mermaid’s elk renderer in GitLab Markdown? When using one of the following syntax, Gitlab renders the Syntax error in text mermaid version 10.3.1 error:

flowchart-elk
  ...

or

%%{init: {"flowchart": {"defaultRenderer": "elk"}} }%%

flowchart
  ...
