I am trying to mirror a GitHub repository with the push direction, and I am getting this error.

My account has 2FA and an SSH key linked, could it be to do with either of those? I provided the correct password to Gitlab, so I don’t understand why authentication is failing.

Any idea of what could be happening here?

to better understand it - so you’d want to push the gitlab repository to https://github.com/itsnewt/nytimes-api? Can you share a screenshot from the existing not working configuration in your project?
