Fresh install

I have freshly installed the server, very nice documentation might I add, BUT when I went to the site it went through the setup fine, then when I went to my site it said it would send an email with a token( this was supposed to let me login with admin rights) I never received it, I googles and someone said I needed to add phpmail addon, so I did configured it to my best ability, but still no email. can you send me current document telling me howto login as admin for first time.

Hi,

you need to install a local MTA providing the mail binary, e.g. Postfix which uses a mail server as relay to send out email messages. Or you use a different SMTP provider shown on the docs.

phpmail is not required, GitLab doesn’t use any sorts of PHP here.
