Gitlab Login Error 500 Null value for column "type"

Hello there,
I found an old (private) Gitlab instance (with which I tested some things a while ago) laying around on an Ubuntu 18 machine. Before deciding on deleting the files or keeping them, I wanted to see whats on it.
So, started it with docker start gitlab… and it boots up without error.
However, when trying to log in, I get an error 500. gitlab-ctl tail showed the following errors

I blanked out private data from the logs. So apparently the user entry in the database has some null value that shouldnt be there. Is there any way I can fix this (with a value so that I can log in again) or create from the CMD another admin user?

Thanks in advance

Update: trying to create a new user with gitlab-rake results in the same error message.
The code looked like so:

u = User.new(username: 'REDACTED', email: 'rescue@REDACTED.DOMAIN', name: 'REDACTED', password: 'REDACTED', password_confirmation: 'REDACTED')
u.skip_confirmation!
u.save!
