Gitlab runner failed to stop, massive charges

Hey Gitlab people,

I’ve happily been using gitlab for a while and yesterday I got a shocking bill from google (1K+) for a hobby project. After some thorough investigation it turned out that a Gitlab.com build had been running since the 27th of June (running for 15746 minutes 6 seconds) and logging all it’s data to the Google Cloud (as it should have done in the 45 minute timeout window or less). While I understand these builds are my own responsibility, is there anything the company Gitlab can/is willing to do to not make a student loose a lot of money to a Gitlab-runner bug?
