It would be great if there was a dashboard of sorts that would give some sort of view or report of all CI tasks across all projects. Does anyone know if something like that is in the works? Does anyone have something similar setup in a system outside of GitLab?

I completely agree here - dashboard functionalities on a global gitlab scale would be very nice.
We have a many repos - over 100, and in jenkins, our current CI, we have pretty nice dashboards to show filtered builds.
We use git flow and as such our dashboards switch between filtered branches, where master is the most important one.
