How do I access logs for pipeline failures?

I am a hobbyist and not an expert in development. In the past I have been able to deploy changes to firebase. I recently added app initialization so that my heroku hosted python app can replace another online app:

//** Initialize App
const firebase = require('firebase-admin');

However, when I try to deploy these changes through pipeline to firebase, I have been getting an error message:

deploy_production - failed - (script failure)

The failed jobs log is not helpful in figuring out the problem:

npm ERR! my_project@1.0.0 deploy: `firebase deploy -m "Pipeline $CI_PIPELINE_ID, build $CI_BUILD_ID" --non-interactive --token $FIREBASE_DEPLOY_KEY`npm ERR! Exit status 2npm ERR! npm ERR! Failed at the my_project@1.0.0 deploy script.npm ERR! This is probably not a problem with npm. There is likely additional logging output above.

A very basic problem I am having in trying to troubleshoot is that I do not know how to access the deploy logs or the npm logs.

To find the npm log, running /root/.npm/_logs/2018-12-19XXX_XX_XX_XXXX-debug.log in the project directory in terminal returns “no such file or directory”.

Other forum posts do not seem to have any good answers. Is this a problem with gitlab that I need to wait out? Or is there something I need to fix on my end?
