How to run a schedule job on a specific tag?

According to this picture, I can schedule a pipeline for a specific tag. However, I don’t understand how to do that.

Alt text: Scheduling Pipelines. The pipelines schedule runs pipelines in the future, repeatedly, for specific branches or tags. Those scheduled pipelines will inherit limited project access based on their associated user. Learn more in the pipeline schedules documentation.

I know how to schedule the run of a pipeline for a specific branch (I have already done so multiple times). I was expecting my tag to be on the same list as the “list of branches” from the user interface, but it’s not.

Here is what I see when I try to schedule my pipeline :

UI of "schedule a new pipeline"

In the “Target Branch” list, I do see all my branches but none of my tags (I have several).

However, when I try to run a pipeline directly (and not schedule it), I do see my tags in the same list as the branches:

UI of "Run Pipeline"

Question

So, what am I missing here? Is there some option I need to activate in order to be able to schedule the run of a tag? Is it because I need to ask my gitlab admin for extra rights?

Here is the version of gitlab I am using: GitLab Enterprise Edition 13.0.0-pre d56014265e6

The Pipeline Schedule API will allow you to specify a tag as your ref in the request.

To help you get unstuck, I recommend trying to use the API first and see if that works. Then you can investigate if this is a bug or if the GUI just doesn’t have that feature yet.
