Is it possible to hide the administrator account from being found?

Replace this template with your information

Describe your question in as much detail as possible:

I want to hide administrator account on self-hosted GitLab. Is it possbile? Thank you.

Do you mean the default root administrator account?

Yes, or hide all accounts that have administrator rights.

And by ‘hide’ do you mean not searchable in GitLab or something else?

What do you hope to achieve?

And what do you mean by hide?

We recently had someone ask if they could delete the build-in Administrator account if that privilege had been given to other users. If that is what you want, you should find that thread.

Most users of our self-hosted instance knows that I do most of the administration, and probably suspects that I have admin privileges on my account, and I don’t think they have any clue who else does, and they are not supposed to have access to the admin area, so they can’t browse the other users and discover it that way, so I would say that is pretty well “hidden”.

Thank you for the reply, and let me make clear.

I don’t want the accounts which have administrator rights can be searched, and their profile can’t be viewed, as if they don’t exist in this system.

@binhua I don’t think that it is currently possible what you seek.

I see, thank you all the same.
