I used http://utteranc.es for a long time on a github pages installation but I’m looking to switch to Gitlab for a few reasons. I’m envisioning using Gitlab issues as a sort of forum for my team and so I’d like to be able to create issues in gitlab repos from the frontend of a website, probably using Gitlab pages. Right now the only way for me to do this is to use a service like integromat to copy issues from github to gitlab as utteranc.es doesn’t work with gitlab, and the problem with that is that I only copy the parent issue.
I’ve experimented with Spectrum.chat, Gitq.com and Muut and while they all work well I want something that integrates deeply with Gitlab and serves as a discussion format for my team on a repo. I don’t want to go to the trouble of installing something like Discourse.
Github have team discussions + will be rolling out discussion forums for repositories so would really like to see something like this with gitlab.
