I am having difficulty understanding the payment scheme
For example:
I have several groups on the bronze plan which involves paying 4 per user.
And there is a user who is in 3 different bronze groups.
Do I have to pay per user 3 times (3x4) for membership in each group?

When you say “different … groups”, do you mean that those are top-level groups/namespaces?
For the usecase of managing several different GitLab.com namespaces for the same buyer, [we recommend creating a parent group(Licensing and subscription FAQ | GitLab).
Would that solve this membership problem as well?
