New Postgres database

We’re using 8.15.1 and have a small to medium size gitlab-ce instance internally. Right now we’re using an remote (same network) mysql instance to host our database for gitlab. This allows a single database knowledge base/maintenance/backup/etc.

Are there any performance metrics kept on gitlab regarding database access? Would it make sense to switch back to the gitlab instance of postgres?

You’re not having any weird bugs with MySQL? In my own personal non-official opinion MySQL is not a good idea. Gitlab is not some tiny rails app that can be safely switched between Postgres and MySQL in my opinion. You will probably encounter bugs and issues that are not encountered by people who are using the integrated db. Edge cases most likely during upgrades/migrations since MySQL is probably not well tested.
