Question about a repo whose sole maintainer passed away

A repo on which I am a “Developer” tier member has only one Maintainer, who passed away last November. I don’t know his IRL information, and was only able to know he died at all because a family member of his hopped on his Discord and let us know.
The only reason I’m asking is because another Developer user accidentally pushed some commits with personally identifiable information that I would like to remove via a rebase and force push, but I can’t do it without Maintainer privileges.

Is there anyone with Gitlab who can reach out to me about a way to deal with this?

This is mostly a user forum, and users can’t help you with that.
