My server is not booting anymore and I don’t have specific Gitlab backups.
I have full disk images, including /etc/gitlab and /opt/gitlab.
How should I reinstall gitlab from a disk backup?
After copying /etc/gitlab, /opt/gitlab and /var/opt/gitlab, I could install gitlab on top and access all data.
Maybe /opt/gitlab was not required…
As for the images, I can recommend this hdd image backup app. Recuva didn’t manage to restore my photos, but this app did.
