This is for the SaaS gitlab.com
I made a fork of the repo to experiment. We have both LFS objects and a decent amount of commit history. I removed all branches and commits except for the initial commit that has a .gitignore file, but after weeks of waiting, running housekeeping once a day, the size of the repo, which now has a single commit and a single 1 line text file, says that it is 760MB in size and that with LFS objects the repo is 9.6 GB in size.
If I make a brand new repo, and set that as the upstream and push the current repo up there, it is KB in size.
I’ve read that there are some additional refs that gitlab has in it’s repo but for SaaS how do you clear this out?
