Runner fail using my gitlab's IP rather than DNS which is certified

Hello,
I’m getting error:

Running with gitlab-runner 10.6.0 (a3543a27)
on fdr-runner 74e941a6
Using Shell executor…
Running on ip-10-50-51-246…

fatal: unable to access ‘https://gitlab-ci-token:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx@34.245.147.123/fred/FDR-nlv-Ireland.git/’: server certificate verification failed. CAfile: /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt CRLfile: none
ERROR: Job failed: exit status 1

I beleive the reason is that it should be using the DNS (eg. my.newgitlab.com) rather than the IP 34.245.147.123. The DNS (my.newgitlab.com) has certification and https working while IP 34.245.147.123 won’t have a cert attached.

Setup: All on AWS using route53 for the DNS and AWS certificate manager for the cert. Gitlab is working fine as a user through the browser, but the runner seems to be not using the DNS.

Any ideas?

Thanks
JC

Hello,

Can you try adding the following line?

variables:
  GIT_SSL_NO_VERIFY: "1"

Super, that has worked. Thank you very much.
