Service Desk Email Office 365 setup


I am having difficulty setting up a custom mailbox for the service desk. We want to use an email address in our office 365 with our domain. I tried the easy version of setting up a transfer of email but this is not allowed by admin because of security issue to open to external forwarding. Could you advise what would other options be if any ? Or is it just not possible to set up a custom mailbox with Office yet ?
