A frequent complaint from my team is the lack of substring search support with ElasticSearch 6.x. ElasticSearch 7.9 introduced a new wildcard search type that allows for better substring searches. My question is whether Gitlab makes use of this search type. If we upgrade to ES 7.9+, will we automatically get substring searches in Gitlab?
