Client authentication failed due to unknown client

Hi guys I am trying to get the guys at work to us CI so I have to put together a test box with some projects to do a demo for the higher ups. Everything installed easy but I am getting this message when I am redirected from ci.example.com to gitlab.example.com:

An error has occurred
Client authentication failed due to unknown client, no client authentication included, or unsupported authentication method.

I can’t seem to find anything online or in the documentation. Any help would be great! I am more of a coder than a network guy so speak plainly :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m getting this exact same error after trying to create a Mattermost team using my Gitlab username. It still happens after following the reauthorize steps here http://doc.gitlab.com/omnibus/gitlab-mattermost/

I’m using the 8.1.0 gitlab-ci release from the ubuntu aptitude package. We do use LDAP for gitlab user login, i suspect that’s related.

Did you ever figure this out, @gregruth any ideas on fixing are welcome! Thanks!

Same problem here.

  1. gitlab 8.x, using LDAP.
  2. Turn on mattermost.
  3. Try to create group
  4. Get this error.
