Forced to re-sign-up for Ultimate trial, lost a group as a result, want to get out of trial

Gitlab forced me to sign up for an Ultimate trial (I could not log in unless I did) then deleted a group. Seems a bit harsh.

  1. How to get out of this trial?
  2. Any chance of recovering my other group?
  3. Is there really still a free account or will I go through re-signup procedure every month?
  4. Does free account allow more than one group? This point is not listed in the comparison tables but is suggested by their deletion of the group.

TL;DR
Today, after using free account for (I suppose) a month, Gitlab disabled the login button. Yes, disabled the button; I guess it saw a cookie. The landing page was an ad for a Gitlab service.

The only button that worked was the “sign up for 30 day trial.” I clicked, it forced me to select one of my two groups. I got in to my dashboard and the other group was gone.

Also, it shows a countdown on the trial indicating I am really in a trial. I don’t want this, never did.

I’m wondering whether some draconian sales tactics are in progress or perhaps free accounts no longer exist and after this forced trial my remaining group will be deleted. Pretty bizarre.

Kind regards,
Aleksander

Follow up:
Now the sign in button functions but it takes me to a weird URL:

Also, there is no create new button in the left sidebar anymore.

And the home button does not go to my dashboard. It goes to that weird landing page with the forced sign-up for Ultimate trial.

What’s going on?

These are the errors in console when loading gitlab.com. Are these normally present?

Hi! I have a similar problem. I don’t understand if it’s a bug or not
