GitLab REST API - Hosted & On-Premise

The GitLab REST API documentation found here (https://docs.gitlab.com/ee/api/README.html) is applicable to GitLab on-premise as well? Or, is it just for GitLab hosted?

It’s definitely applicable to self-managed (i.e. on-premise) GitLab instances.
