Is there a suggestion file amount in a project?

Hi,everyone,
I am trying GitLab in a vm(centos7 x64,8vcpu,16g mem,600g hd), I am trying to commit a large folder, about 170000 files. The commit and push action is successful, but after a new commit, even 10 files had commited, the website wating to long and return a 502 error. I can browser code, but can not view commit status.
I think I had commited too many files in a single project, so is there any suggestion in file amount of a single project?

BTW, total file size is 40g, It’s too large…I know.:smile:
