I've added an extenal email as a guest. I want to choose it as my 'assignee' when creating an issue. It does not show up as a choice. The members I've invited to show up. I'm new to the forum and certainly appreciate any help. Thanks!

Some background:
When inviting members I have the choice of the member or an email address. I chose an external email address and sent the invite. Their max role is ‘guest’ and they show up as invited on the project members page.

Describe your question in as much detail as possible:
My role is Maintainer. I want to create an issue now. I want choose an ‘assignee’.
The pull down when adding an assignee to the issue does not show my guest (that I invited). I cannot choose it. I try typing in the email but it does not accept it.

How do I assign an issue to this invited email? I want the issue to be sent to that email. I want them to reply back and the reply is attached to the issue.

I am using gitlab.com. I’m not sure how to find the version.
