LDAP Authentication not working

I just installed GitLab on Debian 7 and configured LDAP. Whatever user account i try i receive: Could not authenticate you from Ldapmain because “Invalid credentials”.

This is my cfg section:
gitlab_rails[‘ldap_enabled’] = true
gitlab_rails[‘ldap_servers’] = YAML.load <<-‘EOS’ # remember to close this block with ‘EOS’ below
main: # ‘main’ is the GitLab ‘provider ID’ of this LDAP server
label: ‘LDAP’
host: ‘’
port: 389
uid: ‘sAMAccountName’
method: ‘plain’ # “tls” or “ssl” or “plain”
bind_dn: ‘CN=Git Lab,OU=Functional Accounts,OU=Users,OU=HUB,DC=corp,DC=examplegroup,DC=local’
password: ‘P@$$w0rd’
active_directory: true
allow_username_or_email_login: false
base: ‘CN=Users,DC=corp,DC=examplegroup,DC=local’
user_filter: ‘(memberOf=CN=GitLab Users,OU=Functional Accounts,OU=Users,OU=HUB,DC=corp,DC=examplegroup,DC=local)’
group_base: ‘OU=Functional Accounts,OU=Users,OU=HUB,DC=corp,DC=examplegroup,DC=local’
admin_group: ‘GitLabAdmins’

I have checked the Bind account is working properly.

gitlab-rake gitlab:ldap:check RAILS_ENV=production --trace
** Invoke gitlab:ldap:check (first_time)
** Invoke environment (first_time)
** Execute environment
** Execute gitlab:ldap:check
