We are planning to upgrade to 15.6 in a few weeks and noticed that the minimum git version is 2.37.0 (GitLab 15.6 released with improvements to security policies, CI/CD variables, and DAST API | GitLab) We plan to upgrade the git version on the GitLab instance using apt upgrade. Some developers have asked us whether they also need to update their git versions locally? We have quite a few different git versions in the wild that are below the minimum required.
