Okta Support for GitLab hosted?

I see there is a guide to configure GitLab to use Okta when self hosted: https://docs.gitlab.com/ee/administration/auth/okta.html

however, is there a way to use it with the GitLab hosted version?

If there’s not a way directly, does anyone know if it’s possible to use Okta to sign into a Google account (I know this part is possible anyway) and then use the Google account to sign into GitLab?

Thanks.

@glenn SSO at the user level with GitLab.com is not yet possible, unfortunately. The only form of SSO available on GitLab.com at the moment is at the group level through the SAML SSO for Groups feature available in the silver subscription tier.

Hi @Tristan, has this changed within the last year? I too am looking for some way to have user-handling for cloud-hosted solutions in a central user-handling solution (like Okta).

Is there a issue somewhere that I can follow and vote on to show my interest?

@andoks Apologies for the late reply! I’m not aware of any existing issues or epics as far as user-level SSO on GitLab.com goes. We do have quite a few epics on group-level SSO improvements in general though if that’s of any interest.

But of course, you’re more than welcome to submit a feature proposal issue of your own if there’s something specific in mind that you’d like to see implemented. If you do so, feel free to send me a link to the issue you create so that I can ensure that its seen by the right people.
