Unable to send mails from smtp server

Hi Team,

I am getting the below error while sending mail using the SMTP server

Net::SMTPSyntaxError (504 5.7.4 Unrecognized authentication type )

Gitlab-version : 13.4.3

Can someone help me with this issue

This appears to be an issue with using Microsoft Exchange, and you may have better luck on forums related to that.

I’m out of my depths here but per Exchange online plan 1 504 5.7.4 Unrecognized authentication type - Microsoft Q&A and [SOLVED] Everything using Office 365 SMTP authentication is broken, wont authenticate? you may need to perform some authentication policy adjustments to allow older forms of SMTP authentication to be permitted.
