How to delete or rename files (and folders) in repository from gitlab.com? It is possible on bitbucket, on github. Is this forbidden on Gitlab?

when I am trying to rename in web ide it is asking to fork and create a merge request
Your user account might not have permissions to edit the project. Can you share a URL to the project you are editing?

@pawelpeksa, that doesn’t appear to apply to the new VSC-based “Web IDE”. Instead, all I see is a disabled “Paste” context menu entry upon right-click.
