GitLab didn't send me any verification code

I’m stuck with this screen after I entered my login credentials. I didn’t receive any verification code from GitLab, even though that email is correct.

Unfortunately there are a lot of posts already on this forum with this exact same problem. If the email didn’t arrive or didn’t end up in your spam folder, it would suggest that Gitlab doesn’t have a reliable email delivery service which makes it annoying and impossible to use their service.

I did write to one of the Gitlab team that frequents this forum asking them to sort it out, but nothing was done about it.

@dnsmichi maybe you can get this escalated internally for Gitlab to finally fix and provide a reliable email delivery service. Because if Gitlab cannot do something as simple as SMTP email delivery it looks pretty bad - and no doubt affects paid customers as well.

Hello, I’m also getting this issue - has anybody heard anything or can anybody point me in the right direction to file a ticket? (Getting issue on my other account).

@iwalker https://gitlab.com/michioxd is a blocked account, and cannot login, thus won’t receive emails. The erroneous UX with claiming that an email was sent, is a bug and was fixed after internal research, thanks for flagging.

Thanks @dnsmichi but btw why my account got blocked for no reason?

@dnsmichi Excellent news :partying_face:

I cannot answer the question why the account was blocked, this requires admin access on GitLab.com and different team responsibility. GitLab.com Specific Support Policies | GitLab provides a workflow for users to investigate why their account was blocked. For security and privacy reasons, this cannot be discussed in a public forum.
