Hello everyone, I need help with a verification issue that prevents me from running any pipelines on GitLab.
Before you can run pipelines, we need to verify your account.
We won’t ask you for this information again. It will never be used for marketing purposes.
I am trying to deploy my static website https://detektif.gitlab.io using GitLab Pages with Eleventy (11ty). However, before the pipeline can run, GitLab requires me to verify my account.
At first, GitLab asked for phone number verification, but after entering my phone number, I never received any verification code.
When I returned to the verification page later, GitLab suddenly redirected me to “Verify a payment method”, even though I only want to use the free GitLab Pages service.
Because of this verification problem:
- I cannot see the build logs
- I cannot check any errors in my GitLab Pages build
- My website https://detektif.gitlab.io cannot be updated because the pipeline is completely blocked
As a beginner, I am confused and unsure why this is happening.
My questions are:
-
Why is the phone verification code not being sent?
-
Why does the verification page redirect to “Verify a payment method”?
-
Does GitLab now require both phone verification and payment verification?
Is this requirement different depending on the region/country?
-
How do I fix this so I can run my pipeline, view build errors, and deploy GitLab Pages normally?
I would really appreciate clear guidance because at the moment, I cannot even check what is wrong with my build since the pipeline cannot start at all.
