@GitLab team: issues problem solving situation unsatisfying

I’m working with GitLab for years, personally and as a freelancer for clients running a paid on-premise subscription.

None of the issues I’m following has ever been fixed yet. Some of them are dangling for years.

All I see are endlessly repeated “milestone changed to …” messages, exuberant issue discussions amongst GitLab staff for years and occasionally “paying client is affected by this issue”.

This procrastination is very frustrating and unsatisfying. Particularly for paying customers. We are feeling left alone here.

@GitLab team: Can you please restructure your organization for handling issues by fixing and improving GitLab more efficiently.

From my point of view, there is obviously a prioritization problem. Instead of doing sensible things that would really help a lot of use cases (gitlab-org/gitlab#334281) or fixing problems that hinder the workflow so much that you have to use external tools (gitlab-org/gitlab#338526), things are done that the majority of users don’t like and break the workflow, but feedback is ignored (gitlab-org/gitlab#409005).

I think it’s a sad thing that less and less value is being placed on the “core”, namely features relating to the repository and development.

Hey @luuz! I’m a Product Designer at GitLab. I just wanted to relay that I take the feedback to heart. We are working on better solutions, but want to be cognizant about disruptions while we solidify our plan to address feedback. While we know we can’t make everyone happy, I want to reassure you that your voice is heard.

Note that @aregnery said “heard” not “listened to”!

Yeah, it’s my perception that they actually don’t care about the repository and developers because it’s Devops features that are their selling point.

I think Github is better for the basics and will change if I can.
