How to access different gitlab servers from one machine?

Hello,

I’m accessing our company’s gitlab server from home now for some time without problems.
Now I installed my own gitlab server at home (on a Raspberry Pi) for my own projects but am unable to access it via git.

The server seems to run just fine, I can access the web interface, configured it, added users, groups and a project.

I made a new SSH key (additional to the one I use to access the company gitlab server), added it to the ssh config file and put it in my profile on the gitlab server. (I do want to use another one for this server!)

When I try to clone my project in bash I’m being ask for my password but none of the passwords that are related to this (Raspberry Pi, gitlab, ssh) works. (don’t need a password for the company gitlab)

I also changed the git global config user and email, but that did not help either.

Is there still something I have to do, did I perhaps made a mistake somewhere (totally possible) or is it even possible to access different gitlab servers from one PC (I would be surprised if not)?

(If you need more info, please say so.)

If it’s possible, it would be helpful for you to post the commands you are using to access your new gitlab server, and the responses that you get.

I Tried to clone my test project in a bash:

git clone git@RPGL:testgroup/TestProject.git

What I get is this:

Cloning into 'TestProject'...
Warning: Permanently added the ECDSA host key for IP address 'bladibla IP6 address here' to the list of known hosts.
git@rpgl's password:
Permission denied, please try again.
git@rpgl's password:

I’m not even sure what password to put in there. I thought ssh is using git without password.
This probably does not help much, so if you need more, please tell me.

This means that your SSH key is not being recognized.

Can you paste the output of ssh -vv git@RPGL so we can see what your SSH client is trying to do? (It’s going to be very long output.) Make sure you paste it in a code block so we can read it easily.

Thanks for the reply. Here is the output:

There is some kind of problem with your SSH config file.

For example, from the log you just posted:

debug1: Reading configuration data /c/Users/antx/.ssh/config
/c/Users/antx/.ssh/config line 10: Unsupported option "rsaauthentication"
/c/Users/antx/.ssh/config line 17: Unsupported option "rsaauthentication"

Can you show us the contents of your SSH config file (edit out any private info, if you want, but make sure to keep the paths to your key files)?

# Company
Host workgl
HostName gitlab.company.com
User git
RSAAuthentication yes
IdentityFile ~/.ssh/id_rsa

# antx Gitlab
Host antxgl
HostName 192.168.178.23
User git
IdentityFile ~/.ssh/id_rsa_antx

The upper one is the one that works. The “RSAAuthentication yes” line was always in there and never made problems. I removed this line for the lower one, but to no avail.

Alright, I finally got it to work with some help from over at stack overflow.

I have to clone with:
git clone git@antxgl:testgroup/TestProject.git
instead of:
git clone git@RPGL:testgroup/TestProject.git

I also deleted my ssh keys again and created new ones and removed the entries from the known_hosts file (except the one for the company gitlab server witch was working in the first place).
