I have Gitlab server (v14.1.6) running on RHEL 7 O.S, I would like to upgrade O.S to RHEL 8.
what are the pre requisites info to collect & backup, so that once O.S is upgraded to RHEL 8 I can restore GitLab & it should be same as my old setup which use to look in RHEL 7 machine without loosing any configs, repos.

If you take a backup of your GitLab 14.1.6 instance, you should be able to restore that on any server running GitLab 14.1.6, regardless what Linux distribution and version the underlying operating system is running.
Make sure you backup your configuration files in addition to the GitLab data backup just in case anything goes awry. Back up GitLab | GitLab
