Jira does not see old commits before integration with Gitlab

I have integrated on-premise Gitlab with Jira Cloud by Jira development panel using Gitlab for the Jira Cloud app from the instruction below

Everything is working properly except that Jira does not see commits before integration

For an example

I have a project in gitlab that is integrated with Jira and in Jira I see only Commits after integration not before even that the commits have properly project key.

Gitlab version: gitlab-ce-15.11.2

Is this the target behavior, or is it possible for jira to see pre-integration commits with the correct project key?
