Does the jira integration take into account commits made on a local repo that get pushed up to gitlab, or does it only consider the commits made directly on gitlab?

The documentation on Jira integration indicates that any changes that are pushed to the Gitlab instance that mention the Jira issue ID in the commit message or merge request WILL be tracked. This is the case whether you are pushing local changes or making the changes through the Gitlab UI.
It sounds like you already have Jira integrated. Did you happen to run into any issues testing this on your end?
