In GitLab 16.6.2 the behaviour of the navigation bar has be changed, again. Now it only supports two options: either it is visible or it is completely hidden. A third option would be useful that only shows the icons of the navigation categories.
Currently, if I want to save screen space and hide the navigation bar, it is only accessible by moving the mouse pointer to the upper left corner and waiting for a second. Only then the navigation bar bar appears.
If I want to have the navigation bar visible, I only have the option to show it completely which wastes screen space.
Please change the first option to not hide the navigation bar completely but to show it in a compact form.
