Rename Group Doesn't Rename Namespace [Solved]

Howdy!

Using the gitlab.com website, I created a group. I had assumed the groups would be unique within my user, and though I was able to create the group with no problem, I decided it probably had too generic of a name to be used in the apparently global group namespace. I renamed the group to something longer and more specific.

Now when I go to create a new project in that group, using the green “New Project” button from the group’s Overview -> Details page, GitLab doesn’t suggest

https://gitlab.com/newgroupname/project

as the path to the project, but rather

https://gitlab.com/oldgroupname/project

Have I don’t something wrong, I have I misunderstood something, or is this possible a gitlab.com bug?

Thanks,
Tad

Additionally:

The new group name cannot be selected from the dropdown on the project URL.

Thanks,
Tad

The path can be changed from the “Path, transfer, remove” section of the group’s settings page.
