Some problem on GitLab CE 13.4.0

Hello,

I installed GitLab 13.3.7 at clean Ubuntu 20.04. After that, I updated it to 13.4.0 and noticed that recovery of the base got some errors. I rolled back to 13.3.7 it had no these errors.

The errors which I mean:
ERROR: must be owner of extension pg_trgm
ERROR: must be owner of extension btree_gist
ERROR: must be owner of extension btree_gist
ERROR: must be owner of extension pg_trgm

I think they are not critical, but I want to know exactly.

Please help me… Are they bugs or not?

Be sure to stop Puma, Sidekiq, and any other process that
connects to the database before proceeding. For Omnibus
installs, see the following link for more information:
https://docs.gitlab.com/ee/raketasks/backup_restore.html#restore-for-omnibus-gitlab-installations

Before restoring the database, we will remove all existing
tables to avoid future upgrade problems. Be aware that if you have
custom tables in the GitLab database these tables and all data will be
removed.

These are postgres extensions that Gitlab uses, on https://gitlab.dilolabs.net/help/install/postgresql_extensions.md there is some help about those. It seems that the gitlab db user doesn’t have access to that extension, which, as I understand, is needed by gitlab.

@bartj , it’s not helping me.

One interesting thing. I install clean 13.4.0, do the backup of clean base and recovery of the same base at once. The errors are here. :frowning:

Probably It looks like a bug…

I don’t know either then, it might be that the recover script doesn’t set the extension permissions correctly. It might very well be a bug.

@bartj I’m a newbie. Please say me, is this Issue tracker of GitLab-CE - https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab/-/issues?

That looks correct

Thx… I created a new issue - https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab/-/issues/266988.
