Hi all, a bit of a story,
I had an instance of gitlab ce that I have been upgrading over the years and it had become increasingly unstable. At some point it wouldn’t create groups and new project just didn’t show on the dashboard but they existed as one could search for them and check in and out. Renaming and deleting projects also stopped working.
During this time I was trying to re-organise some repos and I deleted a project which failed to delete. In any event at some point I continued to update this project instead of the new one I had intended to create to prevent confusion at a later date.
This weekend I got some time so decided to just reinstall gitlab to get all the issues sorted. I had to upgrade from ce to ee to be able to backup and restore. On the new instance everything now appears to work. The only issue I had is the project I tried to delete now has a permanent banner:
This project was scheduled for deletion, but failed with the following message: Permission denied @ rb_sysopen - /opt/gitlab/embedded/service/gitlab-rails/log/application.log
I would like to keep this project. Is this project is a safe state? How can I get rid of the banner. i.e uncancel the delete? Alternatively I could delete it and just re-import it but would like to avoid this.
thanks
