Your push has been rejected, because this repository has exceeded its size limit of 10 GB by 380 MB

Hi there

Totally stuck!
a large file was pushed that exceeded the 10gb so it seems we are locked out now.
a single commit after git rm filename doesnt work.

git push
remote: Your push has been rejected, because this repository has exceeded its size limit of 10 GB by 380 MB. Please contact your GitLab administrator for more information.
fatal: unable to access ‘https://xyz/’: The requested URL returned error: 403

When trying on the web interface…
When clicking delete on the file it takes a few seconds then comes back with the exact same error.

Dont really see any way out of this… which seems a bit odd!

any help would be appreciated as I need to demo the work on this in 24 hours!!

Been digging through the posts and it seems that this may be unfixable?

“This will be causing administrative overhead for the GitLab Support team until it is resolved. As soon as a user hits their limit, they contact us asking for help because there is nothing they can do to reduce their repo size. After that, there is nothing we can do to resolve the situation in one touch, we need to lift their Repo Size Limit, potentially help them reduce their disk usage, and then reduce the Size Limit again after they are back to the right size.”

help!

many thanks.

Stu

I’m facing this exact issue, the repository doesn’t seem to be completely deleted.
Did you succeed in solving it??
