Can't create Merge Request on Forked Project [Solved]

Hello, I’m new to gitlab, and it seems really cool, but I have one small problem. I want to merge a fork I made to upstream. However, in the fork’s repository page, there is no option to do so:

I can make merge requests for non-forked projects:

so why can’t I create a pull request for a forked one? Is there any way to set the fork so I can make a merge request? I am using gitlab.com.

I fixed it! I had to enable merge requests in the repository settings.
