Config Management - HA availability

Dear Folks,

I’m very new to gitlab and we are looking to use gitlab CE - self managed as a central source code repo for global use.
My queries are as follows -

  1. Is it possible to use gitlab CE self managed in HA mode . Is it supported any how ?
2 . There is no clear mention of users supported in CE self managed version, i guess there is no limit … is that correct ?

Thanks in advance

Regards.

Hi,

Yes it’s possible for you to configure Gitlab-CE for high availability. The Gitlab documentation will give you all the info needed to do it. Omnibus GitLab High Availability Roles | GitLab

And no there is no limit for users on Gitlab-CE. You can even use Gitlab-EE without a subscription also self-managed and there is no limit on users. You just won’t be able to use premium functionality until you buy a subscription. As for Gitlab-CE, no subscription can be added, so if you wanted, you would need to upgrade it to Gitlab EE.

Hi Thanks for your reply.
For using gitlab EE free tier in HA mode, can it not be scaled via the omnibus package and use roles and configuration for HA.

the 3k architechture with cloud hyrid is not possible with free tier, if each component is installed separately.

Also to say the gitlab 3K architecture can be achieved using CE/EE free tier
