Current and previous broadcast messages missing after 15.8.1 upgrade

Hello…

We just upgraded from 15.7.5 to 15.8.1, and I find that there are no previous broadcast messages in the admin area. I always post a message there when we upgrade, and I can’t update the last one to say the upgrade is finished.

I’m glad to see that the text is now white on the dark backgrounds, but now I have two banners, one saying the upgrade is in progress and one saying it is complete. They’ll time out eventually, but I’d like to know if I can get them back!

Thanks for any ideas!

This is still the case in 15.8.3. Does no one else use banner notifications?

I’m seeing the same activity on 15.8.1 and 15.8.3 gitlab-ce. I can create a broadcast message, but when I go back to Admin/Messages to edit or remove a messages, the messages are no longer listed.

Hello,

Same here : we just upgraded from 15.7.5 to 15.8.3 after having set a banner to inform our users. After the upgrade we cannot remove it. This is silly… I hope expiration time set for the banner will make it disappear.

Sorry for the troubles. I have found Broadcast messages don't show in admin console (#388926) · Issues · GitLab.org / GitLab · GitLab - if this matches the behaviour you’re seeing, I’d suggest commenting and sharing the environment details (versions, browsers, etc.) in the issue.

Thanks for the link. Indeed, I have the bug with firefox 109.0.1 on FreeBSD 13.1-RELEASE (amd64). Banners re-appear if I connect to Gitlab from Chromium (109.0.5414.119).

TL;DR for users having the same pb :

Cheers,

Ganael.

I can find previous message list on google chrome, but I cannot find it on firefox.
Anybody encounter same things?
Our GitLab version is 15.8.3 .

Oops previous comment describe “use Chromium”.
Sorry.

FYI, the bug was fixed, and was released in 15.9.1 today. Plans are to pick this into 15.8, 15.7 bug fix releases later.
