Hi We are seeing that gitlab backup takes more than 8 hours to complete .
Disk size around 300GB and database size is also very less .Any reccommendation on how we can improve here

Yes you can use and exclude certain things to help it finish quicker. See the backup docs:
for example skip the repositories, so that you get the database backup, and then use an alternative method to backup the repositories data - eg: rsync to just pull changes made between one day and the next.
